Inti Raymi 2026

Celebrated every June 24 in Cusco Inti Raymi is the most significant cultural event in Peru. This ceremony dates back to the Inca Empire when the Emperor himself led the sacred ritual in honor of the Sun God Inti. Today this tradition is a breathtaking production that blends history culture and world class tourism.

Since the early 20th century Inti Raymi has been staged across three historic landmarks in Cusco the Qorikancha temple the Main Square (Plaza de Armas) and the majestic Sacsayhuaman fortress. This celebration features traditional dances ancestral music and ancient rituals making it a unique spectacle and one of the most iconic cultural experiences in South America.

The main event at Sacsayhuaman is a massive production lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. To attend you must secure a ticket for one of the three available grandstands: Green, Red or Orange all providing excellent visibility of the ceremony.

The Red Zone offers a lateral view close to the stage perfect for those seeking comfort and proximity. The Green Zone also provides a privileged lateral view and is typically the most accessible option. Meanwhile the Orange Zone offers a central view and is widely considered the best location to appreciate the entire performance.
