ITINERARY
This adventure begins with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, Urubamba, or Ollantaytambo. From there, we will take you by car to the train station. This 2-hour road trip from Cusco allows you to enjoy the beautiful Andean landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Upon arriving at the Ollantaytambo station, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. During the ride, you can relax and observe impressive views of rivers, mountains, agricultural terraces, and small Andean communities.
Once in Aguas Calientes, our team will be waiting to take you to the bus station. From there, you will take a 25-minute bus ride up to the main entrance of Machu Picchu, offering you a sneak peek of the wonder you are about to meet.
Inside the Machu Picchu citadel, you will begin a guided tour of approximately 2.5 hours. During the visit, you will learn about the history, Andean worldview, construction techniques, and spiritual importance this place held for the Incas.
After the guided tour, you will have free time to continue exploring Machu Picchu at your own pace. Then, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo, where transport will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco. To ensure train availability and entrance to the citadel, book at least 2 months in advance. If you want to climb Huayna Picchu, do so 3 or 4 months in advance.
It includes transfers from Cusco, train tickets (Round Trip), bus up and down (Consettur), entrance to Machu Picchu, and a certified guide. Lunch is not included.
It is mandatory to carry your original Passport (or ID card/Cédula for the Andean Community). Digital copies or photos are not accepted. Without the physical document, you will not be able to board the train or enter the citadel.
No. Trains only allow a small carry-on backpack (max. 5 kg). Your large suitcase must remain in storage at your hotel in Cusco.
