ITINERARY
Day: 1 Uros Islands and Taquile
Departure at 7 AM
Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Puno and transfer you to the port to begin your Lake Titicaca adventure the highest navigable lake in the world. We will visit the famous Uros Floating Islands built entirely out of totora reeds. There the local inhabitants will share their fascinating history and ancestral construction techniques allowing you to discover how these families keep their legacy and worldview alive through their unique weaving and crafts.
After this deep cultural immersion we will sail to Taquile Island renowned for its scenic beauty and exceptional textile art recognized by UNESCO. Upon arrival we will hike along its cobblestone paths while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the lake. You will get an up close look at the customs of the community where local men are highly celebrated for their mastery of hand weaving. You will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch made with fresh local ingredients before heading down to the main dock to take the boat back ending the day with a comfortable drop off at your hotel in Puno.

Day 2: Aymara Route
Departure at 8 AM
We will pick you up early from your hotel in Puno to start our adventure heading south of the city exploring the most iconic landscapes of the Aymara Route. Our first stop will be the mystical town of Chucuito where we will visit the Temple of Fertility or Inca Uyo a highly unique archaeological site featuring impressive stone sculptures. We will continue the tour to the Molloco Chullpas ancient pre Inca funeral towers of great historical importance. We will also learn about the Waru Waru an ingenious ancestral farming system designed to protect crops from the freezing Andean climate.
The adventure continues with a short hike to the enigmatic Aramu Muru portal a sacred doorway carved into solid rock that will captivate you with its mystical energy and local legends. Finally we will visit the Main Square of Juli known as the Rome of America for its majestic colonial churches. Here your guide will provide great recommendations for you to enjoy lunch on your own before heading back. We conclude this day full of unique places and unforgettable experiences with a safe drop off at your hotel in Puno.

Taquile is world renowned for its exquisite textile art which is proudly recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Unlike the floating Uros it is a solid land island with deep rooted Quechua traditions famous for its highly skilled male weavers and its breathtaking panoramic views of the lake.
The hike is considered moderate. It requires climbing original stone steps at a high altitude. We highly recommend walking at a slow and steady pace wearing comfortable trekking shoes and staying very well hydrated so you can fully enjoy the magnificent landscape without feeling fatigued.
Yes our full day experience includes a delicious traditional lunch on Taquile Island. You will be able to taste a highly nutritious quinoa soup and fresh locally caught trout all prepared with great care by the local community.
