Waqrapukara: The Andes' Best Kept Secret

If you dream of a trip that combines adrenaline, mystery, and movie worthy landscapes, you have to visit Waqrapukara! We all know the magic of Machu Picchu, but this hidden fortress is a treat for travelers seeking to experience the power of Inca history in its purest and wildest form.

Imagine walking on the edge of a precipice at an altitude of 4,300 meters, with the Apurímac River rushing far below. This impressive “Fortress of Horns” so named because in Quechua, “waqra” means horn and “pukara” means fortress was a sacred temple and a very important military stronghold for the Qanchi culture and later for the Incas. It’s an unforgettable expedition that will send shivers of excitement down your spine.
